How to Beautify 6AM

Ideas + Inspiration

The early morning of your wedding has finally arrived, and you’re filled with joy and a hint of nerves, eager to begin the day’s celebration! There are typical to-dos for every wedding morning: hair and makeup, a quick bite for breakfast, special moments with your bridesmaids, and even steaming the dresses. However, there are countless ways to beautify your 6 AM wake-up routine on your wedding day. We’ve curated eight of our favorite methods to beautify your morning, along with a selection of must-have beauty products!

The Perfect Setting

Start your early morning by waking up in a space that creates a peaceful atmosphere for the day and leaves you space for physically and mentally preparing for a busy day! Whether you’re starting your wedding morning with yoga, mimosas, or a dance party, you’ll want space to get ready and get excited.

At The Sixpence, many of our brides opt to spend the night prior to wedding day at our mid-1800s renovated saltbox farmhouse, The Homestead. With adjacent gardens, lawn space, countless cozy details, and sleeping space for up to 10, The Homestead is a perfect spot to wake up, located just across the property from The Sixpence’s barn celebration hall.

Design Your Time

Remember that the daybreak of your wedding day can look however you want! Whether you’re sleeping in and planning a leisurely prep, or spending the morning exchanging gifts and toasts, your wedding day morning will be one to remember, so why not design it beautifully? Consider sweet photo moments, champagne in special glassware, and little details that will help you stay calm and present in the day! We suggest creating a morning timeline to organize all the important tasks for the morning, so you can beautify your 6AM without forgetting a thing.

Prepare Good Morning Attire

Feel your best on the morning of your wedding! Selecting a special bridal outfit for your morning will boost your confidence as you get ready. When choosing a morning outfit, consider if it will be easy to change out of and if it feels truly comfortable to you. Photos will be snapped while getting ready, so whether you’re in a plush white robe, a stunning lingerie set and kimono, or a vintage slip, consider the outfit you want to rock while getting aisle-ready!

Additionally, if you’re not planning to purchase your bridal party getting ready fits, consider giving them guidance with a style guide or some suggestions. For example: The morning-of vibe is Neutral loungewear (we suggest the boutique Good Neighbor) or elevated bohemian (we suggest the boutique Gold Clover).

Set the vibe with the Perfect Playlist

Create a fun playlist with your bridesmaids filled with the best love songs and your favorite upbeat hits to dance the morning away to. Throw together a few of your favorite songs and make a collaborative playlist for your girls to join before the wedding or find one on your favorite streaming service!

Tip: create a huge playlist for your Bachelorette party and reuse it the day of your wedding and reminisce on your wedding celebratory trip.

Sips + Refreshments

It is important to remember to stay hydrated and nourished before the busy day ahead. However, you can still beautify these moments with a glass (or two) of champagne and your favorite morning treats.

Write a Love Letter to Exchange

While you’re spending the morning away from your partner, it’s the perfect time to feel inspired by the emotions from the day and write them a love letter. This is something you can plan with your partner, you each can write each other a letter to share the day before your ceremony or the night after your reception when reminiscing on the day.

Send a Gift

So much time and effort is put towards making your wedding day a dream for you and your partner. Consider offering gifts or thank you notes to your vendors to show your gratitude and gifts to your bridal party to show your appreciation.

Make your first look reveal even more special by you and your partner preparing gifts to share on the day of your wedding. You can opt for each other’s dream items to celebrate your day or specially made jewelry. A pre-wedding week gift idea is you and your spouse picking out a scent for the other to wear on the day of the wedding.

Tip for your partner on your wedding day: brides and grooms, surprise your bride the morning of her wedding by delivering flowers to her getting-ready space. We suggest coordinating with your florist to create a unique and separate bouquet of your soon-to-be wife’s favorite florals.

Tip for you Maid/Man of Honor: Encourage the members of the bridal party to write a sweet note to the bride (and their spouse) for them to read that morning. This is something that they will cherish and will increase the love they feel for the day.

If you’re looking for a gift for someone who is a part of this special day, we highly suggest Charles Mayer & Co. They have a wide range of gift options from fine jewelry to fragrances and candles, and even have gift guides to help as you peruse their website!

Take a Moment

This morning is going to be spent with some of the best people in your life and you’re preparing to celebrate you and your spouse throughout the day. It is important to take a moment alone to breathe and reflect on the steps you have taken to get where you are today. Spending time meditating, practicing yoga, or journaling are splendid ways to feel the fervor of this new change and journey ahead!

Spending intentional moments with the people from your day, whether that be a private toast with your father or putting on your wedding dress with your maid of honor, will help ground you in each moment spent with your loved ones.
