But we have found the sixpence is oftentimes forgotten.

Just like our namesake is sometimes omitted from this well-known rhyme, we began to recognize the lack of elevated and aesthetically driven wedding venues in Indiana. Here at The Sixpence, we aspire to fill that void.

Our event rental space is thoughtfully designed and expertly built with your experience in mind. Our spaces allow you to create the wedding or event you've been dreaming of while serving your every need.

As a seasoned photographer who has shot more than 300 weddings, I’m no stranger to the wedding industry. I understand all that can go into planning a wedding and finding the perfect venue to uniquely reflect you + yours.

Over the last 4 years of photographing weddings, I’ve traveled the world to capture love in some of the most alluring spaces. Exposure to these types of venues prompted my vision for a distinctive, elevated wedding venue in East-Central Indiana, my hometown. 

Together, my parents and I worked to create something truly special in a place so dear to our hearts. The Sixpence is the event rental space for those that want the freedom to shape the venue of their big day into their own. We cannot wait to host your wedding or next big event and facilitate your vision.

The Sixpence is located just off US 32 and state road 421 in close proximity to Zionsville, Carmel, Westfield, Noblesville, and Whitestown... and less than an 45 minutes from  downtown Indianapolis.

1). Where are you located?

2). What's your max capacity?

The Barn at Sixpence is 8,000 square feet and sits on 17 acres of rolling, beautiful property. We can easily and comfortably accommodate up to 300 guests for an indoor or outdoor seated event. 

3). Is there a place for the wedding party to get ready on-site?

Yes! The Barn at Sixpence has two private getting ready suites complete with bathrooms, vanities, a wet bar, and more.
 
Additionally, the Homestead across the lawn is an additional rental space perfect for providing more space for the bridal party to get ready in with showers, multiple bathrooms, a renovated kitchen, and deck area.
 
The Workshop, is another additional rental space and is available for the wedding party to get ready in, complete with a full bathroom, tv, a pool table, darts, and a full bar. 

4). What is the Homestead?

The Homestead at Sixpence is a mid-1800s renovated saltbox farmhouse that finds the perfect combination of classic romance and airy charm. The Homestead sleeps up to 10 and is perfect for the night before your wedding for bridal party or out of town family. The Homestead is included in full weekend rentals, and can be added to single-day rentals!

5). What is the Workshop?

The Workshop at Sixpence is the hangout space of your dreams. A classic old-school feel, the Workshop has a pool table, darts, a 90 " TV, a bar, and much more. This is a great space to host a party, a rehearsal dinner—the possibilities are endless. The Workshop is included in full weekend rentals, and can be added to single-day rentals!

6). Are there indoor and outdoor ceremony space options?

Yes! There is an indoor ceremony space option and multiple outdoor ceremony options.

7). Does The Sixpence have overnight accommodations?

Yes, we do! The Homestead is available for overnight bookings. Please reach out to us for more information at: hello@thesixpence.com.

8). What time can we access the venue to set-up and decorate?

Single-day rentals are from 9 AM to 11 PM. If having an extra day to decorate is important to you, please consider a two day or full weekend rental!

9). How do I reserve The Sixpence?

To secure your date at The Sixpence, a 50% deposit is due with a security deposit and a signed contract.

10). If I choose to cancel my booking, is my deposit refundable?

Our deposits are non-refundable. Our force majeure clause does protect your investment in the case of extenuating circumstances, however.

11). Are we required to use your preferred Vendors list? 

At The Sixpence we love to give our couples the freedom to choose their own professionals to support their day. We want your event to be personally and uniquely yours! That being said, we do ask that you choose from our premier selection of Preferred Caterers, and we do have a full Preferred Vendors List that has been carefully curated by our own firsthand experience with these vendors. Each couple that books with us will receive this list in their Welcome Box! 

12). Will we need to have security at our wedding? 

For all events over 50 people, The Sixpence requires security, but we provide access to it! Our officers will be contracted for an hour before your ceremony and stay an hour after the event. This is included in your package and will incur no additional costs. 

13). Do you allow couples who are not getting married at The Sixpence to take pictures there?

Yes! If you are interested in scheduling a photoshoot on the property and you are not a current client, we have a 2 hour minimum for all photoshoots that starts at $300. This gives you access to the venue. However, if you are a contracted client, this is included in your rental!

14). How do rehearsals work at The Sixpence? 

Yes! You absolutely can. We offer rehearsal dinner packages for large parties in The Barn, and The Workshop at Sixpence is perfect for more intimate parties and casual gatherings. The Workshop sits near our Silo Pit, a custom fire pit to sit around and watch the sun go down. Reach out to us for more details on rehearsal dinner hosting at hello@thesixpence.com.

15). Can I do my rehearsal dinner at the property?

Yes! You absolutely can. The Workshop at Sixpence is perfect for rehearsal dinners and any sort of party. The Workshop sits near our Silo Pit, a custom fire pit to sit around and watch the sun go down. Reach out to us for more details on this at hello@thesixpence.com.

16). Is The sixpence suitable for intimate weddings?

Our 17 acres cover so many beautiful spaces that it's easy to select a space for intimate ceremonies. We offer drapery embellishments in order to add an alternate effect to our interior Barn space, which some guests opt for to create a more intimate effect. While our space holds up to 300 guests, events with even 10 - 25 guests feel special and unique at The Sixpence.

17). Does The Venue have air Conditioning And heat? 

Yes! The venue is fully insulated and climate-controlled for every single event. With full HVAC and heated floors, The Barn will always be comfortable for your special day.

18). What is your alcohol Policy? 

All beverages, alcoholic and nonalcoholic, are to be supplied solely by The Sixpence.
