You’ve heard us brag about our sunsets at The Sixpence for years, and you’re probably familiar with the pride we take in our beautiful property. Along with that, we’re huge believers in purposeful hospitality: curating gatherings for special guest lists, and the role that beverage service plays in hosting. Our end of summer VIP Garden Party combines all of these things, and is truly an unforgettable event every year.

Limberlost: From East to West

This year, our 4th annual garden party theme was inspired by Gene Stratton Porter’s writing on the limberlost wetlands of Indiana, and embellished with dreamworld touches from all over the globe. Limberlost Gardens was a true sight to behold, transforming our on-site gardens of The Homestead at The Sixpence, and brought to life through the partnership of talented creative vendors from our ever-growing network of fabulous friends and talents.

The Dress Guide? Think Cowgirl Goes East, and Gets Lost in a Fairytale

Guests poured in through delicate pink drapes and made their way across the lawn to a stunning round white sailcloth tent, both elements contributed by our friends at Ace Party Rentals. Under the tent could be found tables capes designed by standing garden party partner Uncommonly Styled, lounge furnishings, and full length mirrors to capture the view of our gardens planted by Events and Florals of Zionsville, as well as beautiful faux florals from Lily Ever After. Gorgeous charcuterie boards and elevated pizzas, along with mini desserts were all provided by Sixpence Preferred Caterer Simply Served. DG Visionaries set the ambiance with our end of summer playlist, which guests could enjoy as they explored the yard, dotted with activations and lounges to enjoy.

The Sixpence outdoor bar found itself serving customized signature cocktails, featuring a variety of infused gins from bar sponsor Empress Gin, along with other delicious cocktails and N/A delights as beautiful as they were refreshing. Ever After Charcuterie served curated bites to accompany the beverages. For this event, we requested fruit-centric offerings and they did not disappoint, with edible florals beautifying the offerings.

An Invitation to Get All Dressed Up & Dance Among the Blooms

Our guests had the opportunity to shop from a variety of boutiques: Small Batch No. 3 offered her iconic charm bracelet bar, Wylde Feathers showcased gorgeous handmade leather hats and accessories, and the brand new Jolie Collection featured the cutest garments, from party dresses to lounge wear.

Inside The Homestead, Ethereal Esthetics and Katie Campbell Beauty offered makeup touches and face gems for guests desiring glam, and Alyssa Does Updos gave guests desiring hair touch ups the opportunity for braids or glamorous updos. An exciting addition this year, C.Elliott Tattoo offered the perfect curated selection of tiny tattoos for permanent reminders of our beautiful time together.

Capturing the day through a variety of lenses, some favorite photographers joined us: Honey Lens Imaging, The Lang Co., Kahlie Mae Photography, and Lauren Peterson Photography. Camden Claire captured the party in motion, with a beautiful video (find at the end of the blog!)

Sparkling in the Sunset

When the sun went down, the party went on. Ace’s tent lit up, we set out tabletop firepits, kept pouring drinks and snacking on absolutely delicious Hawaiian-style donuts by Mochi Joy Donuts, and Mooda XO took the spotlight to serenade us with cello music and song.

The Sixpence garden party is an opportunity to celebrate beauty, community, and creativity as we bid adieu to summer and recenter our hearts before bursting into autumn. Sixpence bartenders get the opportunity to get creative with dreamy cocktails and mocktails, we get to showcase some of our favorite in-house embellishments in a unique way (hello, bar on the lawn, dancefloor on the back porch!), and creative partners get to show off for our sweet guests.
