The Sixpence asked: What’s one of the most memorable experiences you’ve had DJing at The Sixpence?
“It’s hard to choose just one, but Riley & Jake’s wedding stands out! Riley, who’s Shelby’s sister, had a vision for a nonstop dance party, and it absolutely delivered. Seeing the entire Sixpence founding family dancing together was unforgettable. Plus, we had some Australian guests in attendance, and it was so much fun showing them how we party here in the U.S.”

The Sixpence asked: What’s your approach to creating a smooth transition between different moments of the wedding, like the entrance, first dance, and party time?
“I take on the role of an MC and party host, ensuring that every transition feels seamless and exciting. I like to introduce the couple with the same energy as a starting five lineup at a basketball game—hyped up, engaging, and full of momentum! I love announcing the couple by name and letting guests know that they’re about to share their first dance as a married couple at long last. I also encourage everyone to be part of the experience, like inviting all guests to the dance floor when it’s time to party.”

The Sixpence asked: What’s the best guest reaction you’ve ever had, and how did it feel in the moment?
“My favorite reaction is when a guest tells me I’m the best DJ they’ve ever seen. I’ve been fortunate to hear that multiple times, and it never gets old. It puts a huge smile on my face and reassures me that I’m on the right path—doing the work I feel God called me to do.”

The Sixpence asked: How do you work with couples to make sure their music preferences are perfectly reflected on their big day?
“I have an online worksheet that my couples fill out before the wedding, covering everything from must-play songs to their overall vibe. I encourage them to sprinkle in their favorite songs throughout the entire day—whether it’s chill tracks for cocktail hour, meaningful picks during dinner, or the big anthems when it’s time to party. Before the big day, we meet to review everything in detail, so I have a clear, personalized game plan. By the time the wedding arrives, I’m so well-prepped that I feel like part of the family!”

The Sixpence asked: What’s the best way for couples to communicate their musical vision to you before the big day?
“The best way is through my online planning worksheet combined with a personal meeting or call. I always encourage couples to share Spotify/Apple Music playlists, favorite genres, and even their “do-not-play” list to make sure the vibe is exactly what they want. It’s all about creating a soundtrack that reflects their personalities and makes their night visionary!”

The Sixpence asked: What songs do you have on repeat right now?
“Right now, I’ve been vibing to BRAT—”360″ has been on repeat. Kendrick’s new album is fire, and “TV Off” is a standout track. Also in my rotation:
