Floral inspiration is one of the most exciting elements of wedding planning. The blooming decor you choose for your wedding day not only enhances the beauty of your venue, but can also hold special meaning, and set the tone and aesthetic for your day. Whether you’re dreaming of a whimsical, romantic, or modern look, flowers can compliment every corner of your special day, from the ceremony arch to the table settings.
Let’s Talk Color
Think about the mood you want to convey. Soft pastels like blush pink, lavender, and yellow work beautifully for a romantic vibe, while bold, jewel-toned flowers such as deep reds, purples, and oranges add a touch of drama and warmth. An all-white floral arrangement exudes an elegant, timeless, and serene vibe, creating a pure and sophisticated atmosphere that feels both fresh and effortlessly chic. The color palette possibilities are endless!

The Sixpence asked: What’s your best piece of advice for couples looking to make a big impact with their floral design?
“Having entrance arrangements at the end of the aisle and a show stopping piece to attach to the altar! Aisle decor often gets missed. Focus on where your guests eyes will be naturally drawn to!” – Flower Boys Indy
The Sixpence asked: What’s your best piece of advice for couples looking to make a big impact with their floral design?
“The best way to make a big impact is to look beyond the ordinary. Most couples think only of flowers when looking for a floral designer. However, there are many other options a floral designer can offer, such as integrating different elements into the arrangements like fruits and fabrics. Another way to make a statement is to create photo-worthy moments for you and your guests. For instance, you can have a floral arch, hanging floral installations, or floral mounds -places where your guests will definitely want to take photos.” – Renaissance Flower
A statement can be made with a monochromatic selection like these vibrant orange designs by Ethereal Florals for Rachel & William’s day, captured by DHP.

The Sixpence asked: What’s your best piece of advice for couples looking to keep to their budget low when it comes to florals?
“When clients want a lot with a little, I focus on convincing them to incorporate bud vases or just candles and concentrate on focal designs like arches, aisle meadows, floral mounds, etc.” – Renaissance Flower
Maddie & Connor opted for a warm neutral garden palette for their florals, designed by Anne Grey Flowers, captured by Amavi.

Nicole & Brandon chose warm neutrals and burgundy tones for their wedding day, designed by George Thomas, captured by Marissa Wiley

Shape & Style
Maybe you prefer a more traditional shape for florals, with clean edges and a classic feel. Or maybe eccentric, trailing florals are more your style. We recommend perusing a variety of floral designs to determine whether you’re envisioning statement florals, understated blooms, or something in between.
Anna & Josh opted for stunning white floral pillars for their day, and we love how these pieces are asymmetrical and double for both ceremony and reception decor. Florals by The Flower Boys, captured by Emma Knutson.

The Sixpence asked: What floral designs are you most excited by this year?
“Interestingly, I’ve found that some clients are eager to incorporate fruits and various textures, not just flowers, into their arrangements. This excites me because it challenges me as a designer. The incorporation of unexpected elements like fruits and unique textures adds an extra layer of creativity and artistry to my designs, making each arrangement truly one-of-a-kind.” – Renaissance Flowers
Alycia & Graham chose bright, beautiful blooms that coordinated with their color taper candles and matched back to their beautiful cake. Florals by First Class, captured by Clayhouse Photography.

Jessica chose neutral tones, beautiful, bouncey stems, and a long statement ribbon for her wedding day bouquet, designed by Molly & Myrtle.

The Sixpence asked: Overlooked floral design element that you’re begging couples to integrate this year because it’s beautiful? More statement pieces throughout the entire venue, whether it be the processional aisle, on the dinner tables or simply a cornucopia of florals as a Photo Opportunity.
