We spoke with Hannah to get her exclusive take on upcoming trends for 2025 as well as wedding days from a planners perspective.

What trends are you anticipating for 2025 weddings?
“COLOR! I have a lot of couples this year that are stepping outside the box and away from the clean, white and black palette that was oh-so popular in 2024, and I am loving it! I’m seeing greens, reds, pinks, and so many more! And not just as accents (!!!) — it’s going to be one colorful year over here at Design the Day” – Hannah Strickler, Owner & Lead Planner
What sets Design the Day apart from other planners?
Design the Day really does only take on a limited number of weddings per year but also each month, not only to ensure an appropriate work/life balance but also to ensure that I can divide my time between clients appropriately and be able to provide the level of service that they deserve. With limited bookings, I ensure that we are able to set aside time to really get to know each other whether that’s over the phone or on a coffee date before deciding if it’s a good match! Design the Day is also for any couple regardless of religion, orientation, budget, etc. — my requirements are just that you two love each other… like a lot!” – Hannah Strickler, Owner & Lead Planner
What advice do you have for couples when choosing a planner/coordinator?
“It’s super simple: choose a planner or coordinator that you feel like you can be genuine friends with over the course of your wedding planning journey. Client relationships are built on trust and honesty, and it’s key to find someone you connect with on this level to make the planning experience the most enjoyable it can be. Wedding planning should be fun, but you have to ensure you have a team that you trust. Ask questions, see if our styles align, stalk us on socials, and talk to more than one or two if you leave your consultation feeling like that person isn’t the right fit — we get it! Do this with all of your event professionals you’re looking to hire, actually!” – Hannah Strickler, Owner & Lead Planner
What is your favorite moment of the wedding day?
“I can pretty confidently say that I can recount a favorite moment for each wedding I’ve been lucky enough to be part of (usually all very different moments!) over the past eight years, but across the board I have two: the first being the first look at a reception with a design client so they can see all the beautiful things that we created together, and the second being the father/daughter special dance because I lost my dad before my wedding day, and I know how much this moment can mean.” – Hannah Strickler, Owner & Lead Planner
