At The Sixpence, we know your wedding photos and films become more than just keepsakes – they become family heirlooms. Long after the cake is gone and the music has faded, your photos and films are what keep bringing you back to the joy, emotions, and little moments that make your day unforgettable.

This month we’re excited to highlight Beachy Photo and Film, our August Sixpence Preferred Vendor of the Month. Husband-and-wife team Isaac and Liv are known for making timeless imagery that is both beautifully artistic and deeply personal. Their ability to capture genuine emotion while making couples feel completely at ease has made them one of our favorite teams to work alongside.

We asked Beachy Photo and Film a few questions about what inspires them, what couples should know when choosing their wedding photographer and videographer, and what they love most about working at The Sixpence.

Question: What’s Your Favorite Thing about Capturing Photo/Video at Weddings?

“Getting to document the biggest day of someone’s life, knowing it’s something they’ll hold onto forever,” says Isaac Beachy. “A wedding day goes by so fast. Almost every couple tells us the whole thing felt like it lasted 20 minutes. Our job is to hand back the parts they didn’t get the chance to slow down and take in.

And it doesn’t stop with them. These are the photos their kids will pull out of a box one day, the film their grandkids will watch to see what their grandparents looked like when they were young and completely in love. There aren’t many jobs where you get to make something that gets passed down to family.

Also, selfishly, one of my favorite things (Isaac) is when Liv lets me watch the final version of her wedding films. I love my photos, but I reallly love Liv’s films. She’s freaking amazing, they give me chills, and watching her tell each couple’s story is so fun to me.”

Question: What’s One Tip for Couples Who are Thinking about Hiring a Wedding Photographer/Videographer?

“Make sure you vibe with the person. It’s good thing to have good work – it’s another thing to be comfortable with each other. Some people just don’t click, and that matters more than couples realize because you’re going to look back at those photos and remember how you felt that day.

If it was awkward, you will see it, and you don’t want that on your wedding day. You want to feel comfortable and confident, and a lot of that comes from being comfortable and confident with your wedding photographer.”

One of our favorite moment to witness are the candid memories captured on camera, and Isaac and Liv are artful directors that ensure couples feel confident and natural. Check out this behind the scenes moment of Beachy Photo and Film capturing a first look.

Question: What’s Your Favorite Thing about Working with The Sixpence?

“The team, hands down. They are there for every step, for every person, couples and families and vendors alike, from the first hour of the day to the last. You can tell they’ve thought through every problem before it ever has a chance to happen.

Honestly, pulling into The Sixpence comes with this wave of relief, because we know the day is going to run smoothly and we get to focus completely on the couple. They’re the best team we’ve ever worked with, and we don’t say that lightly. Best in the industry hands down!”

It’s a true honor to work with talented, passionate vendor professionals like Beachy Photo and Film. We’re proud to present them as our vendor of the month, and we love every opportunity we get to serve clients together as they capture beautiful moments in our space.

Question: What’s One of Your Favorite Wedding Memories?

“Our most recent wedding has one of our favorite stories. It poured almost the entire day. We kept watching the radar hoping for a window, and late in the evening the rain finally let up just enough for us to sneak the couple outside.

The second we stepped out, the sun broke through and a full rainbow came out behind them. We got about fifteen minutes, and it was the most stunning light we have ever shot in. Those are the moments that remind us how lucky we are to do this.”

Question: What’s the Next Big Thing for Beachy Photo and Film?

“We’ve started coaching other photographers and videographers in small groups. We love this industry and we think it can be the best job in the world, so a lot of what we do is help other creatives build businesses that truly take care of their couples.

When a photographer has their systems figured out, the couple feels it. That’s really the goal, more great experiences for people on their wedding day.

Our current group is sold out, but we’ll be opening another one in September. Most of the free teaching lives over on Isaac’s Instagram, @isaac.beachy.
