Summer at The Sixpence is one of our favorite seasons. The property is lush and green, the days are filled with sunshine and love stories, and the evenings linger just a little longer as fireflies dance across the lawn. It’s a season that invites gathering, celebration, and inspiration, all on full display at our Summer Open House.
We cherish every opportunity to open our doors and welcome the community into our space. Seeing the Big White Barn in full event mode allows prospective and booked couples, wedding professionals, vendors, community members, influencers, family, and friends to experience The Sixpence exactly as it was meant to be: alive with beautiful details, meaningful connections, and unforgettable moments.

Hosted on a warm Sunday afternoon alongside our featured partner, Discover Boone County, this year’s Summer Open House offered guests an afternoon of thoughtful hospitality. Guests enjoyed light bites from Jacquie’s Gourmet Catering, a Sixpence Preferred Vendor who we love seeing in our space.
Behind the bar, The Sixpence’s talented bartending team crafted signature cocktails while also inviting guests to our seasonal Spritz Bar, featuring the trending Hugo Spritz, the timeless Aperol Spritz, and the light, floral Italicus Spritz, a refreshing way to toast the season.
Guests were treated to handcrafted charcuterie boats from Charcuterie Cones and Cups and nostalgic ice cream sandwiches from Hoosier Cruiser.
Our entertainment set the tone for an energetic and joyful afternoon. The Simple DJ kept the celebration moving while Maikel David delighted guests with live saxophone performances, creating an interactive experience that brought music throughout the venue.

The venue was beautifully adorned by Sixpence Preferred Florist JP Parker Flowers, whose stunning floral designs transformed the space, while Forever Floral Company also showcased their floral preservation services, a way to preserve wedding blooms as cherished keepsakes for years to come.

Guests also enjoyed watching creativity unfold in real time. Live wedding painter Delaney Nelson Design created custom guest portraits throughout the afternoon. Attendees had the opportunity to snap photos throughout the space, beautified by Sixpence Preferred Florist Lily Ever After Faux Florals, a beautiful alternative for live bloom installations.
Our bridal model brought wedding-day inspiration to life, featuring hair and makeup by Black Swan Beauty and stunning gowns from The Wedding Studio Carmel. Together, they showcased timeless bridal style with modern elegance. Paintings by Anita painted our bridal model live, inviting attendees to contribute their own brushstrokes to a collaborative work of art.

The Lash Lounge Indy and Sugaring LA introduced guests to their beauty and skincare services, offering inspiration for couples planning every detail leading up to their wedding day. We were also thrilled to feature Sixpence Preferred Planner A Simple Planner, whose thoughtful expertise and passion for creating seamless celebrations continue to make them a trusted partner for our couples (read more about them here.)
Throughout the venue, we designed summer-inspired tablescapes in collaboration with Violet Vintage Rentals, layering vibrant color, texture, and intentional details to inspire guests as they envisioned their own celebrations.

Ever After Wedding Nanny Co. and Over the Moon showcased thoughtful services designed to make wedding days even more enjoyable for families, from professional childcare during the celebration to whimsical bounce houses that bring playful fun for guests of all ages.

Guests looking to take home a special keepsake enjoyed custom Sixpence postcards created by Bloom by Dany, while Love Links by Rae offered permanent jewelry as a lasting reminder of the afternoon.
As part of The Sixpence’s fifth birthday celebration, we were especially excited to announce the winner of our Bridal Beauty Giveaway. Guests also had the opportunity to enter our second giveaway, generously sponsored by Discover Boone County, featuring a staycation experience right here in beautiful Boone County.

The day was documented by Sixpence Preferred Photographer The Lang Co. alongside Sixpence Preferred videographer Isaac Ross Videography, whose talents captured every meaningful detail. Watch the recap video here!
Guests embraced our optional dress theme: Refined Whimsy, Brilliant Pastels, Glass, Pearl & Chrome, and Playful Textures, bringing an extra layer of creativity and personality to an already beautiful afternoon.
