We had the chance to sit down with Alyssa and learn more about her journey into bridal beauty, the trends she’s loving right now, and the advice she shares with brides preparing for their wedding day.
What made you decide to work in bridal beauty?
“I have some strong older sister energy (aka hope you’re ready to be pampered and protected at all costs on the most special day of your life), a love for making people feel their most beautiful, equal parts calm girl and hype girl depending on what you need, and the absolute PASSION for creating hairstyles you wouldn’t believe were possible. Key ingredients to a wedding hairstylist! But really, I knew I wanted to do hair my whole life, just ask my Bride-to-Be My Size Barbie.”
It’s easy to see why Alyssa is such a beloved part of so many wedding mornings. She brings a calming presence, contagious excitement, and incredible artistry to every celebration she serves.
Of course, we couldn’t talk bridal beauty without asking about current hair trends.
What bridal hair trends are you loving right now?
“I am obsessing over the classic, timeless revival! With soft romantic curls, clean and elegant half-ups, and modern French twists.”
While trends come and go, Alyssa believes some styles never lose their appeal.
“Glam waves will always be timeless. They are so classic, so bridal, and one of the most timeless looks I can think of!”
One thing that quickly becomes clear when talking with Alyssa is how passionate she is about helping brides feel like the best version of themselves, not simply following what’s popular online.
What’s your biggest piece of advice for brides choosing their wedding hairstyle?
“Stay true to you!!! Your wedding hairstyle should be a reflection of you, whether that’s a hairstyle you’ve always envisioned yourself wearing on your wedding day, even if it’s not trending. Find what you love and stick to it! Too much social scrolling for inspo can create more confusion than decisiveness. Xoxo!”
That focus on authenticity is one of the many reasons couples love working with Alyssa. She understands that wedding beauty isn’t about becoming someone else, it’s about feeling confident, comfortable, and completely yourself.
What’s one bridal hair tip or product you always recommend?
“Have a hair washing party the night before your wedding! Get a bottle of clarifying shampoo (my fave is Malibu Undo Goo Shampoo) to share with your wedding party so everyone’s hair is consistently squeaky clean and ready to style in the morning!”
And when it comes to preserving those beautiful curls and styles throughout the day, she shared one more piece of advice every bride should know:
“Steaming dresses in the same room as hair styling is being done is like creating an actual steam room and will cause curls to fall and hair to frizz up.”
Her recommendation is to steam dresses the night before whenever possible, or designate another room for steaming on the wedding day. It’s a simple step that can make a big difference in keeping hair looking its best.
