We sat down with Kayla Keith, owner and lead planner, to learn more about what she loves most about wedding planning, her advice for engaged couples, and why she and her team love working at The Sixpence.
What’s your favorite thing about planning and coordinating weddings?
For the team at A Simple Planner, it all comes back to connection.
“The best part of planning and coordinating weddings to our team would be the various detail and planning meetings we have with our clients,” Kayla shared. “Within both of our wedding packages, we offer many planning meetings to learn about our couples as well as plan and organize details for their wedding day.”
Her approach goes far beyond timelines and logistics. Building trust and forming meaningful relationships with her couples is at the heart of everything she does.
“We love getting to know our couples on a personal level just as much as getting to know about their wedding day. It is important to our team to build a good foundation of trust throughout the planning process.”

What’s one tip for couples considering hiring a planner or day-of coordinator?
If there’s one thing A Simple Planner wants couples to know, it’s this: having a professional planner or coordinator is invaluable.
“No matter if your venue requires some level of planner or not, we highly recommend hiring a professional full planner or coordinator,” she explained.
One of the biggest benefits? Peace of mind.
“Your planner or coordinator can help manage stress throughout the planning process and on your wedding weekend. We like to think we are a part of the VIPs for the wedding day who can finish the couple’s sentences.”
Their role allows couples to fully enjoy their engagement and wedding day without constantly fielding questions or solving problems behind the scenes.
“This takes the burden off of the couple to be able to say in any situation: ‘Go see A Simple Planner. They’re the boss.’ It takes the pressure off of the couple and gives ownership to someone they trust who isn’t a bridal party member or family member.”
They also emphasized how valuable guidance can be during the planning process… especially for couples navigating wedding planning for the first time.
“You don’t know what you don’t know. Your planner or coordinator should give you validation on the things you do know, while leading you through the best way to tackle the things you don’t know.”
